Caution released (유의종목 지정 해제): what it means on Upbit and Bithumb
On Upbit and Bithumb, a coin that shows signs of risk is first designated a caution item — 유의종목, or 투자유의종목 on Bithumb. If the review ends in the coin's favour, the exchange publishes a notice lifting the designation: 유의종목 지정 해제, or caution released. This page explains the lifecycle, lists the releases our feed has tracked since April 2026 and shows how prices moved after them.
The caution lifecycle on Korean exchanges
A designated coin keeps trading, with a warning shown to users, while the exchange reviews it. The review ends in one of two ways: the designation is lifted, or trading support ends. Each step is published in Korean on the exchange's official notice board.
| Stage | Wording in the notice | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Designation | 유의종목 지정 · 투자유의종목 지정 | The coin is flagged for review and keeps trading with a warning. |
| Extension | 지정 기간 연장 | The review period is extended; the outcome is still open. |
| Release | 유의종목 지정 해제 | The review ends in the coin's favour: the warning is removed and the coin trades normally again. Our feed sends this step as caution_released. |
| End of trading support | 거래지원 종료 | The review ends against the coin: trading stops on a stated date. Our feed sends this step as spot_delisting. |
Common reasons for a designation include a sudden change in circulating supply, missing or inaccurate disclosures, a security incident, a legal or regulatory issue, or a project team that stops answering the exchange. The designation notice usually states the reason and when the review will end.
What a caution release means
A release means the exchange reviewed the issues behind the warning and decided that the coin keeps its trading support. The risk of a delisting at the end of that review disappears. It is not an endorsement: the exchange can designate the same coin again if new issues appear.
Upbit and Bithumb decide independently, but a coin designated on both can be released on both the same day — as happened with TAIKO on 24 July 2026 and INJ on 22 September 2026.
Caution releases tracked since April 2026
The Upbit and Bithumb caution releases our feed has detected since April 2026 (6 so far), newest first. Each token links to its announcement page with the price chart. The table is regenerated at every update of the site.
| Detected | Exchange | Token | Peak move within 24 h |
|---|---|---|---|
| 22 Sep 2026 | Bithumb | INJ | +9.7% |
| 22 Sep 2026 | Upbit | INJ | +8.0% |
| 24 Jul 2026 | Bithumb | TAIKO | +15.8% |
| 24 Jul 2026 | Upbit | TAIKO | +10.3% |
| 15 Jul 2026 | Bithumb | GNO | +58.8% |
| 19 Jun 2026 | Upbit | KERNEL | +9.1% |
Peak move = best price traded within 24 hours after the announcement was detected, compared with the last trade before it, on the token's most liquid existing market. “window open” = the 24-hour window is still open; “no price data” = no price data recorded for this token. Small sample: 6 measured releases — too few for a meaningful median.
How prices reacted
In the 6 measured cases, the best price within 24 hours ranged from +8.0% to +58.8% above the last trade before the announcement. That is too few cases for a statistic, and a peak is an extreme, not a return: it says nothing about the price an hour or a day later. For comparison, the listing price reaction page gives the medians of the other announcement types, measured the same way.
Caution released vs delisted
The same review can end two ways. A release keeps the coin tradable; the end of trading support (거래지원 종료) removes it from the market on a stated date. The Upbit delisting alert and Bithumb delisting alert pages describe both events and how to receive them, and the price reaction statistics give the median move after a Korean delisting notice.
Getting caution-release alerts
The CryptoListing.ws WebSocket feed sends each release as an event with listingType caution_released, the ticker and the exchange, on the same connection as listings and delistings. Filter with ?cex=upbit or ?cex=bithumb, or connect to the Seoul endpoint, which carries Upbit and Bithumb. The free Telegram channel @CLWfeed posts them too. FAQ
What does 유의종목 지정 해제 mean?
It is the notice by which Upbit or Bithumb lifts a caution (investment warning) designation. The coin, which kept trading under a warning during the review, returns to normal trading, and the risk of a delisting at the end of that review disappears.
Is a caution release bullish?
Not necessarily. It removes an overhang, and in the few cases measured since April 2026 the best price within 24 hours ranged from +8.0% to +58.8% above the pre-announcement price, but the sample is very small and a peak is not a return. Treat a release as information, not as a trading signal on its own.
Can a coin be designated again after a release?
Yes. A release closes one review. If new issues appear, the exchange can designate the coin again and open a new review.
How do I get caution-release alerts?
Connect to the CryptoListing.ws WebSocket API and handle events whose listingType is caution_released, or follow the free Telegram channel @CLWfeed. Upbit and Bithumb releases are both covered.
